WiFi Colour Printer/Copier/Scanner £30 Delivered

Happened upon this while searching for new ink for my Canon Printer. An Olivetti WiFi printer/scanner/copier for £23.49 inc.VAT + £4.99 delivery.

Link

I took a punt and ordered one. I had to get them to send me a new black cartridge as the one in the box stopped working after a few test prints but OYYY were very helpful. A quick call to Olivetti for a reference number to confirm the diagnosis and OYYY sent me a new cartridge. Its now printing/copying/scanning very well, all by WiFi.

Its quite a big unit, 30cm deep, 20 high and 45cm wide, its not the fastest printer or the quietist and I haven`t tried to print a photo as I tend to use an online service for guaranteed results. You also have to download the Vista drivers from Olivetti.

I will use it until the ink runs dry and then decide whether to get my Canon back out! New ink costs as much as the printer does, as is often the case these days.

RE: Tesco Mobile Motorola V3 for £29.97

I think this is a wine up!

:B

Born Equal

Did anyone record it? I was supposed to record it for the wife but forgot to set the Sky+ that`s me in the doghouse :/ There`s no sign of it being repeated.

I would be very grateful if someone could put it on a disk for me.

Cheers

RE: Free Sirrus Strongbow Glass

It gave me the same answer until I removed the DVD Reviewer pane at the top of the screen. Then it worked. It could have been a coincidence though.

Kingston 512MB SD at Tesco £10.97

While browsing at my local Tesco store in Oxford, I spotted these Kingston SD cards on a special offer, 512MB cards for £10.97 each. They had about 10 packs on the shelf. Didn`t need one myself but that`s a decent, non-internet, price for Kingston memory.

RE: `As New` 32

I couldn`t remember until I re-read my original post :/

"I ordered on the Saturday night and the TV arrived on Tuesday."

Hope you get yours OK, I`m still delighted with mine.

RE: `As New` 32

The stand is the one shown with the newer 32ZP48 seen here

To be honest I never new it was different as I never used it, its still in bits so it was hard to tell! It`s an MV32ZP46 if that`s any help. Cookie`s was different as well so I guess they`re shipping the newer stand with these refurbs. Still a bargain :D

RE: Argos clearance 75% *OFF* loads of items, starts Fri Oct 8

I reserved a Samsung A800 phone yesterday night for £32.50 at the Oxford City Centre store only to be told when I got there today that `It was an internet pricing error` and had been removed from the web site >:( Grrrrrrrr.

RE: `As New` 32

Hi all, sorry for the delay I thought this thread was well dead! Anyway, I`m still delighted with my bargain Tosh 32" TV.

Cookie - The first one they sent me had an odd line about a quarter of the way down the screen all the way across. You could see it straight away when I first switched on and it was really clear on solid bright backgrounds. They changed the set straight away, no quibbles at all. Have you got yours yet?

Nelsondublin - My experience of shopbyprice was excellent, answered all my emails within a day or so, and exchanged the TV no questions asked.

Butterfield - Yes it was a Digitheatre, I thought it was OK, then I had nothing to compare it against and it was my first system. The integrated system in this TV seems to have more depth in the sound and the speakers seem to be of a better quality. A chap at work bought the Digitheatre off me for his brother for £30!

`As New` 32" Toshiba Picture Frame TV £719.99 Delivered

These are factory refurbs sold `As New` by www.shopbyprice.co.uk

I have wanted one of these for ages but could never justify the £1200 price tag. I spotted these people on the web with the 32ZP38-AN (the AN bit means As New) and after a few emails to them to try and make sure I wasn`t going to get ripped off, I took the plunge.

I ordered on the Saturday night and the TV arrived on Tuesday. Toshiba box and original packaging with a white label on the side saying `As New Factory Refurbished`. Unfortunately this first set did have slight picture fault. The wife said I was seeing things but it had to go. Today (Friday) I received a replacement `as new` set. This one is perfect so far and comes with a 12 month guarantee if anything should go wrong. I still think it was worth it even having to send the first one back as the price is even cheaper than I`ve seen on Ebay!

Anyway, I`m delighted and have a £1200 TV for a net £520, (sold my relatively new Panny for £200! :D ) and my Videologic Dolby surround system will be appearing on Ebay very soon, might even get £20 for that!!!!

Have a look on the site there`s lots of other things on there that I can`t comment about, but make sure you know exactly what it is you`re buying.

RE: Carphone Warehouse/ Orange phone. Anyone got their cheque yet?!??!

Got my cheque today for £225 from Carphone Warehouse :) . Didn`t have to do anything at all, it just arrived on its own!. My 4th bill was April 25th.

RE: Too bloody good to miss - Sky+ for a Ton!!!!

Had a V1 Sky+ box installed today, blimey it`s big! The installers didn`t arrive until 5:45pm after giving a time between 2 & 5pm so they had to do it in the dark and in the rain. They had a spot of bother though, couldn`t get RGB or auto SCART switching to work on my Panny TV, so he`s ordered me a new box which will be a V2. Turns out he had the VCR and TV SCARTs in the back of the V1 box the wrong way round (doh!) which I`ve sorted. Now I have a dilemma, sit in again all day and get a shiny new V2 box next week or keep the V1 which is working perfectly OK. Decisions, decisions!!!!

PS Thanks to the original poster for this great spot :D :D :D

RE: Bloody Speeding Ticket

Just for info, the blue `camera` type looking things on poles on the side of the road and on motorway bridges are for the Trafficmaster system monitoring traffic flow not speeders.

RE: ADSL & Caller Display

Thanks for that. Looks like the microfilters are to blame. BT told me that it wouldn`t work!

Cheers!

RE: Lost my rag in Choices!

I saw a poster once that read:-

"Smile and the world smiles with you, snarl and you get better service."

ADSL & Caller Display

Can anyone suggest a decent DECT cordless phone that the caller dsiplay still works when you are enabled for ADSL?

I have an old Phillips Onis 2 handset that still works with caller display when the ADSL is connected via Pipex. Some time ago I bought (and returned) a new Phillips handset only to find out that the CLIP (Calling Line ID Packet or something) didn`t work, when I rang BT they said that CLIP isn`t compatible with ADSL! Anyone else been told this?

Despite this the CLIP does work on my old Onis 2, and when the PC is off, on a seperate CLIP dsiplay unit. Anyone else got a DECT handset that works with ADSL? I really need to get a new phone now.

RE: anyone had any hassle off sky wanting payments?that you dont owe !

Quick message to Sky `Freeview` users.

If like me you were about to cancel your Sky sub and just watch the Freeview channels beware. If you do that you will lose ITV1, CH4 & CH5. Sky have decided to remove them from the `Free to air` list because BBC have gone their own way (seen it on the news?). Nothing you can do except live with it or buy a Freeview box. Although `Free to View` the only way to get these 3 on Sky is to pay £18.50 per month. Cheers then. Current BBC Freeview cards will be switched off by Sky mid to late August unless you got yours between now and Feb 2003. You no longer need a card to watch BBC with a Sky box.

Just thought I`d mention it, sorry if there`s already a thread going!!

RE: Home Networking

Excellent, thanks chaps, just what I needed to know.

Home Networking

Here`s a question that I don`t seem to be able to find the answer to.

I have two PC`s in the house, 1 desktop & 1 laptop. Desktop has broadband connected to one USB port. I connect the laptop to it via a crossover RJ45 cable slung across the rooms as there`s no real way to hide it on a permanent basis. I`d like to go wireless though, would I need 3 bits of extra hardware or 2? Do I need the `access point` as well as the PC cards or will the PC cards talk to each other without it? Then there`s bluetooth cards would that work seeing as the PC`s are always relatively close in the house?

RE: When a bargain is NOT a bargain

Here`s another....

I told two of my mates at work about the Umax DVD Player + DD5.1 speakers on Ebuyer for under £100 that I saw on this forum. Both bought a system, both have got clicking speakers and one`s got a dead sub-woofer. Both have had very bad after sales support from Ebuyer......

Whooops!!!

RE: Help with strange picture fault reqd.

No, I will though. I`ve only got those crappy ones they bung in the box. I should invest in a decent one anyway. I`ll get one tomorrow. Have you seen something like this before Clayts?

Help with strange picture fault reqd.

Anyone have any idea what this could be?

When I play a DVD, at almost a third of the way down the screen from the top there is a 1 inch horizontal band that doesn`t seem to move as fast as the rest of the picture. It`s most noticeable when there`s a moving vertical line passing through it. The 1 inch band can be see to be moving slightly after the rest of the screen, very annoying!

Any ideas anyone???????

RE: Snowman joke

Then there was the dyslexic agnostic who sat around all day wondering if there is a dog..........

RE: Dansai 1010 for £69.99, plays everything inc vinyl :), (macro/region free)

I bought one 2 weeks ago for £69.99. Phoned Tesco for the update disc to enable VCD playback which came a week later. Then you can disable macrovision as well as bypass the Region codes. For the money, I can hardly fault it, except for not having a display and the Tesco Help screen. For the man (or woman) in the street its a bargain that does everything you could possibly need. Best be quick though, 2 weeks ago they had 20-30 in the Tesco store near me, this week none. Replaced by the new Dansai (950 I think) with the free DVD`s in the box.

RE: Channel 4 & 16.9

Are you using a digital decoder? As I understand it, you will only get a `true` widescreen picture from a Sky box or similar and a DVD player. I have a Toshiba Widescreen TV that auto ratio switches on all channels but only when using Sky. You have to make sure that your Sky box is set to 16:9 and use a SCART to connect to your TV.

If you`re viewing on analogue, you will only get a stretched 4:3 ratio picture and the black bars top and bottom seen on most TV programmes these days will still appear if you switch to 16:9 mode. You might get rid of them if you have a zoom feature on your TV.

RE: SKY HIGH PRICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I downgraded my full package last year after the price increase and used the change to pay for most of my broadband sub.

I though it was just me having problems with the info banner and channel listings. This has only just started happening in the last few months. Has anyone else noticed this? I tried re-aligning the dish and re-loading the firmware but it made no difference. One for the hardware forum me thinks!!

RE: 100Hz Tv`s

Well, I went and stood in Curry`s for half an hour trying to tell the difference. I couldn`t. Ordered myself a 50Hz model and saved £100.

Cheers Chaps.

Andy

100Hz Tv`s

I`m looking at the Panasonic Widescreen TAU Pure flat models and the 100Hz 28" Nicam version is £100 more than the 50Hz. Is is really worth the extra?

RE: 64MB Smart Media and DVDs

Nice one, just got a 64Mb Smart Media Card and a NiMh charger with 8AA`s and 4 AAA`s for less than thirty quid for the lot! Excellent tip, cheers!!!
