Amstrad DX3092 MPEG4 DVD Player £19.99

Just saw this in Curry`s for £19.99. It has RGB Scart, component and says it is MPEG4 compatible. It is very small A4 size and looks reasonable. Anybody know if this is any good at playing Divx, picture quality etc.

Not seen this machine, but from my days working in Dixons (thankfully long ago) I just can`t trust any product with the name "Amstrad" on it. They caused me nothing but grief back then.

If you`re after a decent Divx, MPEG, XviD player, you can`t go wrong with the IISONIC II3016PU DVD/DivX player from http://www.pixmania.co.uk @ £30 + delivery.

http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/170874/art/iisonic/ii3016pu-dvd-divx-player.html

It plays any DivX / XviD i`ve thrown at it and TBH, I wouldn`t touch anything made by Amstrad with a bargepole.

Looks like my gut reactions to "Amstrad" as as valid now as they were in the late Eighties.

Ok Here goes. This is a bargain!!. Bought one yesterday expecting it to bit iffy but ok for the bedroom and found its brilliant!!. It plays divx mpeg4 xvid with no sysnc or judder. Its even better than my cerified divx player !! Lots of features. It has remote etc. rgb output. Only downside is that it dosn`t have dolby digitil but fine for dolby surround. When I powered it up all the setup intructions were in italian but managed to change it to english with no probs.Multiregion out of the box and its dinky so there!!! lol
P.S Its obviously aimed at the Italian market as everthing is in Italian

have to second the praise for this machine, ive just picked one up and it plays all my divx and avi`s fine :) the machine isnt very advanced, but then again its £19! im using it as a bedroom player and for this purpose its brilliant (well so far!) even if it does break after a year its not likely to break the bank to buy another. the user interface is very simple but it serves its purpose, its also very quiet, virtually silent when compared to my toshiba.
all in all recomended as a decent player, the spec isnt up to much it only have rgb scart, component and av, no optical or co-axial output.
oh and here is a quick pic (think this works)

I picked up one of these Amstrads today.

I`ve noticed when I play back DVD backups or AVIs from DVD-R or CDR media, I occasionally see errors (blocking?). I don`t seem to see the problem with retail DVDs. The same DVD-R media plays back fine on my old Yamada player.

Any one else notice this problem?
