If you`re after a decent Divx, MPEG, XviD player, you can`t go wrong with the IISONIC II3016PU DVD/DivX player from http://www.pixmania.co.uk @ £30 + delivery.

It plays any DivX / XviD i`ve thrown at it and TBH, I wouldn`t touch anything made by Amstrad with a bargepole.

that`s because it`s a very budget screen with seriously low specs.

IMO it`s not worth the money, you can get an excellent 32" flatscreen CRT for a similar price these days. if you want an LCD i`d wait until the january sales tbh, you`ll get a much better deal.

:o WOW! shocked at the how much difference the firmware update made. Xvid and DivX`s were gittery, parts of scenes were being cut short, I was on the verge of taking it back.

Thanks to the OP, and the poster of the new fireware link. The update works a treat and is a real must do for this player.

they did a similar boo boo with the alien head when I ordered that. The price changed when I added it to the cart. It was a £10 difference, I wanted it so much that I wasn`t too bothered and proceeded anyway. However, a week later I started seeing posts about poeple who`d called and complained and HMV honured the deal. Needless to say, I made my call to get my 10 smacks refunded :)

I worked for Tiscali until Feb `05. I`ve seen how it treats it`s customers and i`ll be frank it`s a cowboy ISP on the verge of bankruptcy. It`s track record is a joke and it`s had more than a few slaps on the wrists from OFCOM.
