The Silvercrest SL 65 is a rebadged Comag unit and as such should be a great wee unit.
The predecessor to this one, the SL 55 was an excellent wee bit of kit and if the SL65 is an improvement on the 55 then it will be a helluva unit.
The Sky quote is a misquote and it looks like it only appeared on the flyers as the Lidl site does not mention it.
Anywhooo :) if anyone fancies a freeview alternative to the Sky one this is the wee box for you. Not only can you get the vast majority of the free channels, excluding C4/C5/ITV/ITV2, but you can get a f***in shed load of other channels and radio channels.
There are a number of firmware hacks that can be downloaded which "Enhance" the channels available ;) . All10/11/12/13/14/15 etc are all hacks that do quite a bit of work and they are easily downloaded from the PC to the SL55 via the RS232/serial socket on the rear.
So a full system for £60 and about £5 for a cheap serial cable makes this a f***in great wee buy.

TBH I might get this and feed both my Comag SL55 and the SL65 form the Dula LNB supplied with the full set.

Choagy, can you elaberate a bit, "There are a number of firmware hacks that can be downloaded which "Enhance" the channels available . I tried Google but got nowhere.

A simple bit of Googling for "comag firmware" will find the firmware for you. (Hint add "maiden" to the search). But, I couldn`t find much info regarding other channels that this might unlock.

So.. Yes Please choagy tell us more, or at least refer us to a suitable site.

Re."Does anyone know if you can get the premiership football on these via norwegian channels or other".

No idea, but you reminded me of the good old days of Norsk TV2 on D2mac analogue 1W
I`ll never forget QPR 1-1 Man. U
The bastid ref added about 9 minutes of injury time(there were no injuries) as if he was waiting until Man. U scored.Eventually Cantona equalised.....We went down that year :-(

Have a wee swatch at http://comagsl55.tripod.com/guide.htm The site has downloads and information on all the ALL10 etc and how to go about flashing the Firmware via the serial ports on the PC/SL55.
Also have yet another wee swatch :) at http://forums.exthus.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=56 and you will find agreta deal of information on channels available after update. The majority of them are on satellites other than 19.E and 28.2.E (Astar 1/Astra2/Eurobird) and this site will point you :) in the right direction.

BTW I am going to be trying out Maiden in the next day or so, and will let you know how it works.

PS I managed to get Eurosport and Motors TV but it looks like I will have to try an updated firmware to get them again :(

At the moment it looks like highlights from games in the early 90`s. Possibly as it is half time, not too sure.

I bought a freeview box last year and even though I apparently can recieve digital in my postcode area,it didnt work (I believe it may have something to do with the ariel not being able to pick up a great reception, our standard ariel picture is poor its watchable but poor.) would this be any use to me you reckon.
