RE: Cheap external storage 250GB USB/Firewire from £15.64

Hmm. Ive had nothing but the original order confirmation (checked spam folder too). I`m not expecting them to honour, but I`ll be peed off if they cant even be bothered letting me know theyve cancelled the order.......

RE: Cheap external storage 250GB USB/Firewire from £15.64

Hmm. Looks like theyve processed my payment. Just checked my accoutn online (bank account that is), and while it isnt on my statement yet, theres the exact payment to dell amount unnaccounted for - I wont hold my breath till it arrives, butat least theyve taken payment, so I think that gives us more rights than if they just cancelled the order without taking payment......

RE: X Box with four games for under £50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I arranged mine fo r delivery on Wednesday, went through the checkout with the console and games in the basket, then after the final confirm (ie after theyve effectively taken the cash) i get notification that the games were out of stock and the system removed them automatically, but dont worry - you havent been charged. Called up Argos not very happy (as theyd basically said "no free games for you") and they told me they might get in some more games and i should call back every day to find out if theyre in. Now thats what I call customer service. Or maybe not.........

RE: 26

Cheers for the seating advice Sandy,

Was starting to think I was going mad as I seem to be the only person that spots the artefacting on Sky. I`ll try re-arranging the lounge tonight as I sit about 3` from the screen in my armchair.

Cheers

RE: 26

I have to say.......

DVD performance is awesome, as is game performance. Even tried my PC on it and ran some HD video which was breathtaking.

BUT Sky looked pretty bad to me. I cant seem to find a sweet spot with colours and everything seems to be very underwatery - its probably more to do with Sky signals being generally pretty ugly (does anyone else think its got worse in the last couple of years).

So pleased mostly, but it means I have to put my name down for Sky HD now so I can watch the TV part without getting a headache......

RE: 26" HD Ready LCD TV @ Dell £378 - actually £363 (free delivery i didnt spot)

I`ve read in a number of reviews that its a HDCP DVI port, but to be fair, at this price if its not then I`ll just use it as a PC monitor when Sky HD comes out and replace it with something else.

Not legally binding, but hopefully accurate -

Seems pretty cheap for a LCD TV from a (reasonable) name brand. Hope it is good as mines on its way.....

i seem to remember paying about £45 for halo on day of release ? can anyone confirm the price of the original x--box launch prices ?

The console was around £299 and games were £40-45. Microsoft then decided to drop the consoles price about a month later and give 2 games and a controller t o the people who bought at the original price.

RE: PSP - Import with Free Shipping!

From what Ive read dead pixels seem to be something Nintendo and Sony are handling differently - whereas Nintendo seem to say

"Gee, were really sorry that machine had dead pixels, here have another one"

Sony seem to say

"Hey what can you do? LCD screens have dead pixels all the time, just get over it".

Unfortunately this will filter down to the stores who will have to enforce the policy of the manufacturer (Game certainly wont take backa PSP with dead pixels knowin that Sony wont re-emburse them as Sony dont cover dead pixels unless they are extremely bad).

That said Ive had my PSP for about 6 months now and it arrived from Japan with 2 dead pixels - both in the bottom left of the screen. They`re only noticable on a black background and only if you really look carefully. Ive never noticed them while playing a game or watching a movie.

RE: Cheap Sony Laptop - out of stock now according to Sony

Thats what they told me on the phone.

I put my order in last night, logged into the account today and they had put me down for 2, which i called to correct. When i called the guy checked and said no more would be coming in to stock, and that I could either cancel on the phone or wait a week and someone would likely call me and tell me then.

He said it was a problem with the website (which I dont doubt, as it seems rather flaky as a site - constantly getting sessions timing out by simply pressing a link, etc) and that 4 people had managed to get orders in that wouldnt be fulfilled (about 9:20 this morning)

Thats all I was told - whether its true, false, a misprice or whatever only Sony really know :(

RE: Cheap Sony Laptop - out of stock now according to Sony

It is still there (Via Laptops->Factory Outlet), but as I mentioned earlier the guy on the phone at sony told me that the link was wrong - and that no more would be coming into stock, and had to cancel my order.

RE: Sky+ £49 with refurbed box

You`ll be able to watch 1 channel at once (unless you pay for multiroom). The Sky+ box has 2 decoders (but only 1 output, although the engineer said with a bit of creative tinkering it should be possible to output 2 channels at once) so you can at least record 1 channel while you watch another (or record 2 channels and watch a recording). The Sky card is registered to the box, so switching the cards around wont work :(

Basically your old sky box will go in the attic until the Sky+ one breaks

RE: Sky+ £49 with refurbed box

Mine also came today - also brand new! Not sure of the make - it doesnt seem to say on it at the front and I cant be bothered looking around the back right now. Just well chuffed - a 3 day turnaround from Sky aint bad (and neither was the 49 quid for Sky+)

Many thanks to the OP - I probably owe you a nice cold beer.........

RE: Sky+ £49 with refurbed box

Yay! Sky caved in a did me the offer. I think they suspect a scam as they seem to have had a few the last couple of days. They might make you jump through hoops, but to be fair to the staff, they want to help but cant until you say the magic words "I want to cancel". Thanks to the OP!!!!!
