Hi Liam,
If you post this in the hardware forum, you`re more likely to get an answer.
Good luck!

RE: Bargain DivX & Card Reader DVD Player £19.99 From Lidl!!

Nobbi,
Admars posted a link to the multiregion hack about three pages back on this thread.
It sounds a bit more complicated than just using the remote, but not much.
Good Luck!

RE: Bargain DivX & Card Reader DVD Player £19.99 From Lidl!!

Chris,
Am I correct in thinking that you have to do the firmware upgrade before the multi region?
Ta.

RE: DivX DVD player - New offer at LIDL from Monday 17 Oct

Sounds quite good (but I agree - it does look odd).
Can anyone confirm that it`s multiregion as well?

RE: BBC website-discounts on recent and classic dramas

No...Both are Casanova.
The Doctor Who connection is that Russel T Davies who wrote the recent production of Casanova wrote much of the last Doctor Who series.

RE: Cheap multi region DIVX dvd player

Thanks lawman,
I`ve read that one, but I`m always wary of reviews written by the company that are selling the product.
I`d prefer one from someone that`s bought one.

Cheap multi region DIVX dvd player

Hi,
Anyone know if this one`s any good?
http://gameloaded.co.uk/UK_Eltax_DV153_Compact_2846.htm

The specs on the website sound good, but I can`t find any reviews.
Same model also available at special reserve.

Let me know what you think.

RE: MAD Cheap BOXSETS at Amazon - Indiana Jones £3.97, Monty Pyton £3.97 etc

Just got my Indiana Jones this morning....Don`t hold out much hope for my Monty Python though.

RE: MAD Cheap BOXSETS at Amazon - Indiana Jones £3.97, Monty Pyton £3.97 etc

Despite getting the cancellation e-mail, I`ve just received another mail to say my Indiana Jones has been despatched and my Monty Python`s on order.
May get something yet....

RE: MAD Cheap BOXSETS at Amazon - Indiana Jones £3.97, Monty Pyton £3.97 etc

RE: 4400 on DVD from (yeah ok I know they suck) DVDSoon

If you look on Amazon.co.uk marketplace, it`s only a tenner. You have to pay postage, but I think it`s only just over a quid, and it`s despatched from within the uk.
I think this link should work....

RE: Taken DVD box set £11.99 inc P&P!! RRP £49.99

Back up to £42.99 now....... :(

RE: Cheap freeview box

Hi Marixon,
I don`t know if it`s nationwide - I couldn`t find it on their website.
I bought mine at the store in Sale, Cheshire.
It was supposedly reduced from £34.99 (I think).
They had quite few others on the shelf, so it wasn`t just discounted `cos it was the last one.

Cheap freeview box

Just bought a cheap freeview box from my local Sainsbury`s.
It`s an Akura AOP01STB.
Really easy to set up. Decent instructions in decent English. Good picture quality. Twin scart sockets.
It even came with a scart lead.
Best of all, it only cost £17.49.

RE: AIWA 1.5gb mp3 player £59.99

Yep.
Still says in stock, but only if you use the link from here.
You can`t find it on the web site any more if you use the search facilities and if you try and add it to your basket from the link here it don`t work!

RE: AIWA 1.5gb mp3 player £59.99

All sold out.....
I phoned empiredirect - they tell me all stock`s gone and it`s a discontinued item so they won`t be getting any more.

RE: Crystal Slimline DVD DivX Player

Try posting in the region hacks forum - they`ve been able to help me with similar queries in the past.

RE: Free £25 - similar to free £5 cyberslotz deal

Should say "make 5 bets of £5 each and they will credit your account with £25". You shouldn`t lose any money and you only break even if you lose every £5 bet. I suppose you should be able to win at least one of the five bets.....

RE: Blockbuster sale

The sale`s definitely on in store, but I couldn`t find anything worth buying......

RE: DivX player (MultiRegion maybe) £39 / £35 at whsmiths online

Cheers Steptoe,
I`ll set my Nero the same as yours.
I`m going to retry the original AVI`s that I couldn`t burn and see what happens.

RE: DivX player (MultiRegion maybe) £39 / £35 at whsmiths online

Hi Steptoe,
Mine seems ok for most DIVX movies now. One of my mates loaned me some and they all played ok on the player. The initial ones burnt from my PC wouldn`t play on his divx player either. I copied the movies he loaned me onto my pc and burnt them from there onto cd. Most would play ok. I only had a problem with one file - if I copied his avi file to my pc and then burnt the file onto cd, it wouldn`t play at all. If I did a cd to cd copy however it would. The problem may be more to do with your cd writer and software than the actual divx player. I was using Nero and (I think) a lite-on cd writer. You should also finalise your cd when you burn it - don`t leave it open (multi-session) to add extra files or it probably won`t play.
How many files have you tried? It may be you were just unlucky with the stuff you downloaded.
Good Luck!

RE: Star Wars trilogy - £14.99

I`ve just checked about six stores. All had stock.
They`re all in the North West though......e.g Altrincham, Warrington, Sale, Wilmslow......

Star Wars trilogy - £14.99

Not really my sort of thing, but thought this seems cheap.
Argos have the Star Wars Trilogy boxset for £14.99.
Go to the Argos website and use code 372/6264
Hope some of you enjoy it!

RE: DivX player (MultiRegion maybe) £39 / £35 at whsmiths online

Tonyk100 - thanks for your advice on this.
You`re right - there`s AVI and there`s AVI.
I borrowed some divx movies off a friend and they all play fine. I even copied them to my hard disk and then wrote them to another cd and they still work ok, so I know it`s not a problem with my cd writer.
I`ll try some others, but for now it seems the player works ok.
Thanks again for your help.
