Fergie spoke to Tevez twice in two years....

Tevez said: "I was there for two years, and Sir Alex never called me or sent a text message.

"The only time he talked was after the match against Roma ( in 2007/08 ) because we needed to talk about me playing for Argentina, and I don`t think this is the way to treat a player who is at the club for two years.
There was no line of communication.

BLOODY HELL, no wonder he left!

Which is fairly different to the story Sir Alex Ferguson put forward at a press conference two days ago (ie before Tevez said this yesterday)

As much as I can`t believe I am possibly defending Fergie you should consider both sides of the story

Given the comments made by both sides, I find it hard to believe that Fergie didnt talk to him in the period
(Mind you given that the clips of Tevez`s press conference yesterday that I saw he spoke no English then that maybe wasnt easy)

i think i`d probably side more with tevez - with the man utd fans loving tevez, ferguson has to look like he made some sort of effort. the writing was on the wall when they signed berbatov for £30m.

i`m glad for tevez. i`m sure the wages help - but i believe him him when he says his family are settled in manchester and that he needs first team football. a place on the bench won`t do him any favours, for the national team, against the likes of higuain, millito, aguero and messi etc

By the same token though

"with man utd fans loving tevez, Tevez would want to make it look like he was driven out rather than opting to go (for money, games or otherwise)"

Maybe it wasnt worth Sir Fergie`s while talking to Tevez or his agent ;)

I`ve long suspected Fergie is only a figurehead at OT for a while.
This story only heightens my suspicions.

That`s an interesting hypothesis. Care to elaborate and/or give examples of evidence?

I can`t give concrete evidence, which is why it`s just a feeling/hunch.
I can`t be the only one that thinks Fergie is the football equivalent of `that old bloke at work` that they don`t have the heart to force to retire.
So they let him come in, walk around a bit, go through the motions etc.
But any real control is long gone.
Circumstantial evidence is him saying he would rather "sell Real Madrid a virus" (itself a rambling nonsensical statement) than sell them Ronaldo, then him going anyway.
Now the Tevez thing.
As I said, circumstantial.
I could be completely wrong, Fergie maybe still rules the roost.
I don`t think so though.
Given that his retirement (or worse) is to be expected sooner rather than later, it would be silly (IMO) to let Ferguson keep 100% control to the day he leaves/drops.
It would make more sense, in any organisation, to let control `drift off`.

Again, I;d suggest the comment re Madrid was made because he knew Ronaldo would go this summer and by taking that stance it helps in persuading the OT scummers that it was Ronaldo who wanted to go not the club / SAF who wanted to sell

I don`t agree, I still think Fergie is arrogant/senile enough to think Man U are the biggest club in the world, so I think he fully expected to keep Ronaldo.
Which, to me, makes his departure all the more satisfying.
Knock some more huff and puff out of the old wino`s sails.
