Page 1 of LG3350 - Do i buy it from dabs or techtronics?

Hi
I have decided to buy the LG3350 player.

My question is can i just buy it from dabs and then make it multi region and turn off macrovision myself ???. (easily??)
Or should i buy it from techtronics which as i understand it come with all this done??

I am not to keen on buying from techtronics in light of another thread slagging it off.
Basically my question is, is it easy to make it multiregion and also to turn off macrovision so i can record to vhs.
Anyone have the LG3350 and has turned off macrovision?.
Id rather wait for dabs to get them back in and order from them and do the fixes myself rather an use techtronics if possible, however if it is going to require "chipping" then i will have to order from techtronics

I found Techtronics service first-class, including follow-up enquiries from me via e-mail. They have always got back to me within 24 hours with very helpful advice.

I believe to remove macro on the LG requires a mod chip. If you buy one from Dabs you will still need someone to chip it for you. I bought mine from Techtronics already chipped and have had no problems with it. But quite a few other people have. Do you feel lucky?

I understand form reading arund you can use an external cable that will turn off macrovision. To be honest i think i would rather go this route than having it chipped and invalidating the warranty.

Does anyone use an external cable to turn off macrovision?
Does it work well?, can you record to vhs ok?

I have just purchased one from http://www.direct-electricals.co.uk/. I ordered it bank holiday monday evening, got a phone call yesterday and hopefully getting it delivered today.
Apparently it is easy to make it multiregion and also play VCD`s. As for macrovision from what I understand, having it chipped will have an effect with any disk that is RCA region encoded possibly making them unplayable. I personally have got a video stabliser that removes the extra sync pulses that macrovison uses.
