RE: DVD-Ram to DVD-R help

I find the best way to do this is to use a piece of software called womble. This will read the dvd-ram file, enable you edit it if you wish and produce a dvd compatible file. This can be burnt using nero but this will want to re-render it so the best way is to use something like TMPEG dvd creator to burn to disk. Hope this helps

RE: Laputa the flying island

I, too, remember Laputa. I taped it of the TV years ago and recently got it out to show to my young kids. They loved it. As Disney now hold the rights to this and a few other japanese manga films I contacted then a while back about a dvd release. I was to that an "all star" cast had revoiced it and the film had been re edited to give a more western flavour but no release was pending. It sound terrible but keep watching Disney releases.

RE: Problems with Harry Potter

Me again.
I have just tried the disk and it seems ok. I managed to navigate to the deleted scenes.
This is the official walkthrough as sent out by Warners incase any one is interested
Harry Potter and the Philosopher`s added value scenes
Instruction sheet.
1) From the Main Menu go to Diagon Alley (OwI option)
2) Enter Diagon Alley (lf you make 4 mistakes it will let you in after)
3) From Diagon Alley Enter Gringotts Bank using the key
4) In Gringotts Bank Select the coins
5) Go back to Diagon Alley
6) Go Into Ollivanders
7) Select a Wand Box (any will do)
8) Wait for V/O to end then Select a second and third wand. When done this will automatically kick you back into Diagon Alley
9) Go back to the Main Menu.
10) Select the Hallway to Classrooms (The Wand on the table)
11) Go to the option of the Cat (Transfigurations) and hit the down arrow. 12) The 2 Owls on the Pedestal should highlight and hit enter.
13) The `H` Should highlight as well and hit enter again.
14) This should give you a long transition that takes you to Fluffy (3 headed Dog).
15) Select the Flute option and this should go to the key page.
16) The correct key is 2 up and 1 to the right from the back arrow button. lf you don`t select the correct key it will give you a V/O and try again. If you continue to miss the correct key, the keys will all move. The correct key if you miss 4 times will become the largest key on the screen (you can`t miss it)
17) Potions Room Select the Yellow Round bottle in the back
l8) Mirror of Erised Select the Stone to go to the Deleted Scenes.

Hope that was a help to somebody

RE: Problems with Harry Potter

And so it goes on.
Although I have not contacted Warners my next door neighbour is more pro-active than me. Even though he told them that the DVD had been returned to the supermarket where he bought it after 4 attempts to get a working copy they still sent him a replacement disk and a copy of willy wonker and the chocolate factory to compensate him for his time and trouble. Hehas tried the new disk and all seems ok. He has just bought it round and I will try it and let you know

RE: Problems with Harry Potter

Thanks for pointing me at the other thread. I must have missed it. Unfortunatly I have got the region one version bought through Futureent. I don`t know if it is worth the bother of sending it back. Heaven forbid the kids not being able to watch it for a few weeks. I think I will wait to see as I am sure that Warner UK would not exchange a region 1 disk

Problems with Harry Potter

Has anyone had problems with disk two of Harry Potter. Both my neighbour and I have LG machines and both freeze when selecting the wand on disk two. He has had the disk replaced 4 times without luck. I have a region one copy and it does the same. The only way to get out of it is to unplug the machine. This is very annoying as I cannot access the deleted scenes because of this. Any ideas?

RE: Buena Vista deals on ezydvd region 2 & 4????

I have bought quite a few DVD`s from Ezydvd. They provide a currency converter on the web site which calculates the price minus their local tax. They do charge p&p but it is not excessive.
All their DVDs are region 4 only but play quite happily in my LG player. They normally arrive about 5 days after they are ordered. No problems yet except I am still waiting for Dungeon and Dragons which was in their sale at $18.14 or 6.62 using their currency converter and is out of stock

RE: LG3350 - Do i buy it from dabs or techtronics?

Did I say RCA? Of course I meant RCE

RE: LG3350 - Do i buy it from dabs or techtronics?

I have just purchased one from http://www.direct-electricals.co.uk/. I ordered it bank holiday monday evening, got a phone call yesterday and hopefully getting it delivered today.
Apparently it is easy to make it multiregion and also play VCD`s. As for macrovision from what I understand, having it chipped will have an effect with any disk that is RCA region encoded possibly making them unplayable. I personally have got a video stabliser that removes the extra sync pulses that macrovison uses.
Have a look at http://www.lgdvd.co.uk/ for links to dealers and for multiregion codes

Cheers
