Page 1 of Philips MX1060D Region Free Code

Hello all, Below is the reply I got from Richercounds (Dublin) when I asked about a region hack for my Philips MX1060D system. Best news is: no lock up!

"On remote -
Press System.
Then press 1 6 7.
This takes you to a screen. Then select the region using the up, down and right arrows and press system again.
If you have an RCE disc, it must be on the region of the disc, otherwise it will not play.
We like to surprise people with our superior knowledge.....and just for you it`s free.....happy DVD`ing.

P.S. It won`t lock up on any number of changes."

I have this machine - purchased in Australia....region 4. When you say the machine doesn`t lock, do you mean ALL Philips mx1060d`s no matter where they are sold? Or is it possible that in some countries the unit will/does lock?

Is there a way to make it multi region without having to select the region code each time?

i`ve try to use the up, down or right arrows.....but nothing appends...

are you sure that you don`t need to use the number directly to choose the correct zone ?
