Apparently the offer ends on Monday, but for £108 it`s pretty cheap.

Shame I don`t need any more hard disks.

I`ve been looking at Hard Disks and found Planetmicro to be pretty competitive. They have a 160GB disk for £65.74 inc vat. http://www.planetmicro.co.uk/product_info.asp?stockcode=M003084. They can`t beat ebuyer`s price for a 200GB disk though.

I would personally go for WD of the 2 drives as you have a 3 year warranty & I have always found Seagate drives to make a noisey "clunky" sounds as they read\write data.

A penny more expensive here, but P&P may make it cheaper.

Have to say I`ve never had any such problems with recent Seagate drives - they`ve all been whisper quiet.

(I have an 8GB one which is a bit `clunky`, but that`s bloody ancient.)

A few months back PCPro did a hard drive review and found the 120Gb WD1200JB`s to be one of the best (quiet, fast etc.) on the market.
I bought one of them, and it`s great....so I bought another :)
I then decided to replace my other 40Gb drive with a Maxtor drive (Diamondmax Plus 9 200Gb 7200rpm 8mb Cache ATA133)...and I wish I`d stuck with the WD2000JB
It`s not as quick as the WD drive, and makes more noise,.not a great deal - but as someone who likes really quiet computing its not great.

I`ve got a 160GB Maxtor that just decided to format itself for no apparent reason.

Don`t think I`ll bother with Maxtor again, it`s not the first time I`ve had problems with their stuff.
