RE: philips 710

well, sorry to insist, but here comes the way to hack your philips 710 dvd player in order to set it to zone free (zone 9 or 0).
it actually works on several players (including mine) based on the second revision of the player
(they do have the dts logo on the front side)

for this to work you need to do it with the philips universal remote control

select audio 1
put the dvd player on
player shows `no disc`
press p+
player shows `

`
enter 222222 005255
press p-
player shows `no disc`

that`s it, it`s now zone free

ps: only problem, is that i dont know with what exact remote control models it works.
Please post to this list to tell wich model work, and wich do not.
ps2: what is the code to learn with a programmable remote control?

RE: Philips 710 All free for ever (well it works for me)

hi,

sbcru440
or
sbcru620, sbcru630, sbcru640

the remote control was not anyone of model sbcru8xx (880 or 890)

Philips 710 All free for ever (well it works for me)

selectionner audio 1
allumer le dvd
`no disc` est affiché
appuyer sur p+
des tirets apparaissent
entrer 222222 005255
appuyer sur p-
`no disc` est affiché

voila, il est zone 9 (zone free)
merci de mailer pour confirmer si ca marche avec les premiers modèles.
