I know they're all available but I don't usually binge watch stuff that's brain stretching.

Ah an inscrutable a new film based on the 3 body problem books. Interestingly the books are massive best sellers in China, and content had to be approved by the Chinese communist party to be printed, as all their books. So you wonder if they are trying to tell the Chinese population subtly that Earth will encounters an alien civilization from a nearby system in the near future, or are the Chinese just a bunch of si-fi geeks?

3 things:

1. If I hadn't seen the trailer I would have given up after half an hour. A slow build is one thing, but this was wading through treacle.

2. Benedict Wong speaking with his native accent is weird.

3. But not as weird as hearing Keiko from TNG/DS9 swapping hers.

Thought was, no need for spoilers as first book came out in China in 2006, and the internet media speculation was that the Chinese authorities wanted the Chinese to read it with the 'not so hidden' message. 

No idea your reference to Jez bandi, is that one of the chinese actors?
