Spurs, as per, being linked with all and sundry.
Sully Muntari being linked.
Eldin Jakupovic (keeper) claiming already in contact.
Inevitable Downing will come up as well.

Problems with the Tevez deal -

1) Do we even have £30 million quid to spend on one player, if we do i want Villa not Tevez
2) Where would he play exactly, i would have though hed be best in the hole, but thats where Gerrard plays. Whilst i would sell Stevie and get £30 million for him i dont think thats ever going to happen so there isnt room for Carlos

It matters not what happens in life, ive met the Mighty Bruce and my life is complete.

I`m of the opinion Tevez has made it clear he wants to go abroad, probably Spain.
Even if it means it isn`t the best deal, moneywise.
He recently said he wanted (paraphrasing) "the best for his family, and money does not necessarily matter".
Could you really see him going to Liverpool?
Wouldn`t that be Sol Campbell levels of treachery?

Add at least £10 million on for Villa, with the weak pound, your looking at probably more like £45million for him.

I`ve seen recently that Tevez is looking more like £20million for a permanent move aswell. Although he`s not going anywhere it`d be interesting to see how much we would get back if Berbatov were sold now, as we overpaid by about £10million in the first place (IMHO he`s going nowhere anyway).

I swear this isn`t sour grapes, honest. :D
But I definitely think Berbatov`s value has dropped by a fair bit.
He`s certainly done nothing to increase it, anyway.
There is always the `Man U factor` though.
Undeniable that merely being on Man U`s books pushes values up.

1) Man Utd have a deal that means they`d pay £30m for Tevez - that was agreed a few years ago when they struck the loan deal

I dont think that if his owners were now to have to sell elsewhere taht they could command the same fee

2) David Villa

I think he`d cost £35 - £40mill as mills suggests
The thing with buying him is where does he play???

RB doesnt want to play 4-4-2 as far as I can tell
Are you going to drop Torres?
Are you going to play Torres or Villa behind the other one??
If so what do you do with SG?
Do you think either Torres or Villa would like sitting on the bench for a minimum of half a season every year??

I think if you are going to play 4-2-3-1 then you`d be better spending £30mill on a player like Tevez than £40m on a Villa

I had heard pool were after

Villa
Barry
Silva
Johnson
and one other who i now forget

Have subsequently heard that Valencia leaking the Silva interest earll;y has led to Benitez totally pulling out of a deal as he feels they have tried to instigate a bidding war and he wont have Liverpool used like that when he felt a deal was in progress

With Valencia approaching Leeds-esque meltdown you may just get Villa for £25-30m. The bigger problem is getting him to agree terms, as he`s very loyal to Valencia and isn`t fussed about moving out of Spain.

That`s the thing though Madrid offered 45million Euros last summer which was rejected and although the situation has worsened since then, Florontino Perez is likely to be returning and will want a Marque signing for the fans and Villa is the obvious choice.

With Barca willing to bid and also interest from Italy I think it will still end up being £35million, as like I said the weak pound has put up the equivalent cost, so a 10million Euro "loss" for Valencia will actually still come in at £35million.

I also agree with Fowler, in that where he would play for Liverpool. Generally him and Torres don`t play in the same team for Spain (not actually sure about recent qualifiers though Torres probably hasn`t played many?).
