OZ SITES - Which is best?

sportsmimic (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 24th July 2001, 00:52

With so many oz sites now available, which works out the best?
I find the shipping costs confusing, and want to order "Ginger snaps" which is $29.95 aus at ezy or $23.99 at devoted.
Devoted looks better, but I don`t know if shipping is more than Ezy.
Can anyone help clear this up?
Gratefully,
Aaron

I think it works out about the same I tend to order two or three films so the postage is isn`t so bad. Mind 10 dollars is only about £3.50 and Ginger Snaps is only about £8.50 so it`s still a bargain. Ezydvd is probably better if you only want one as the GST offsets the postage to some extent.

I used devoted and chose the really cheap postage option (unpadded envelope - $3.50 - about £1.20!!!). Disk arrived fine. No complaints at all!!!

Have used both EzyDvd and DeVoteD as they tend to offer the best deals, and with the GST and exchange rate it tends to be far cheaper than buying at home. Delivery around 4-5 days and have not had any problems with the standard carboard envelope option. The only thing to concern yourself is the custom tax if order is over the standard limit.

Have u tried Family Box Office? http://www.fbo.com.au/dvd.asp

They have pretty competitve prices and have an option during ordering where u can select to `mark as gift`. The only hassle is getting ur card validated for the first time, where u have to find out what amount in AUD has been credited to ur card.
Overall, they have prices lower than Ezy and give the same quick shipping options and excellent service.

By the way www.chaosmusic.com are as good as any of the oz sites mentioned here. I`ve bought most of mine from them. If there is a delay and something ships seperately the postage remains as the the original order. Also after you`ve spent A$200 about £70 you become a Chaos Agent and are entitled to a futher 10% off if the dvds aren`t already on sale.

I am still in the process of trying to get my card validated with www.fbo.com. Thought I would try them after seeing the post, but I am having second thoughts about using this company again.

They said if my card didn`t validate they would do it their side, I shudder to think what would happen if I decided to order using a different card, all this validation stuff AGAIN!!!!

By the time I get my DVD (if at all) it will be close on 2 weeks after the initial order.

i hate these credit card validation sites as well. At first me was always ezydvd ezydvd. But now its more DVDcrave. dunno what it is about them. They have the best service. Chaosmusic rock too.

Update

Actually sod everyone else. DVD CRAVE are the best. I have ordered 2 more times from them and each time they are ever so helpful and always respond to my emails and they are the best retailer of any region that i have encountered
