SATA HDD for £50 budget

martin8777 (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 18th July 2006, 09:58

I`m looking to replace the hard drive in my pc and want to upgrade to a serial ATA drive, my mobo does support it. Currently I have a 120gig ide drive but want something bigger.

Ideally I`d like something nice and quiet too.

I`m looking to spend about 50 quid, anyone have any suggestions?

will happily sacrifice disk size for quietness and speed.

If your looking for quiet drives then the samsung spinpoint series are very quiet. Also you could look at the 250 Gb Western Digital WD2500KS. I have the 320GB model in a media PC & its very quiet, fast & runs cool too.

How are you putting your 120Gb drive in your Xbox? (are you talking 360?)
