Hi, can anyone help me with getting a free mass downloader. i am feedup with internet explorer only allowing me 3 downloads at a time, even firefox as limits.

What i am after is free software that I can use to download stuff that automaticly downloads what I want to different folders that I have pointed to.

Has anyone used software that can do this

Regards

Before I got ADSL I used to use GoZilla and GetRight. Not sure if these are still around, but I think they do what you require. Try a Google search for them.

I`ve been using Getright for years.

you can tell it to take over when you right click a link, rather than your browser doing it. You can sometimes use it to browse to a directory in a website, so you can just dl all the files that are linked from a page quickly and easily.

You can use it to download from ftp sites.

Do you mean the amount of files you can right-click - save etc.?
If so you can easily modify your registry to overcome that. If you`re not confident doing that the link on this site (IE Download limit.reg) will make the change for you. It is a .reg file that you can have a look at (in notepad for example) if you want to make sure of its contents but it is fine.

You have to be careful as well, as more than 3 connections to a single website (I think) is classed as abuse in some circles.

I can`t imagine anyone would have been prosecuted for it, but they might send an email to your ISP.

Then again, I am probably way off. I just remember reading something about why Internet Explorer doesn`t allow more than 3 downloads per website - legal issues was the answer. How the third party software allows them is another matter though.
