Page 1 of Yamada DVR-8000 playback issues?

I`ve got a Yamada DVR-8000 and up to now its been great with recording DVD`s that I`ve been playing back on standalone DVD players. However I recently tried to playback a DVD on two PC`s and only the title menu could be viewed, on trying to play a title from the menu nothing happens. Can anyone tell me what`s going on?? I`ve been using Packard Bell DVD+RW`s and Bulkpaq +R`s. Is it a media issue or a player issue?? Maybe there`s something I`ve not set right on the recorder??

I have come across that problem before but not with a computer but a 14" tv dvd unit you can get from asda .[ i have the same yamada 8000 as you].[ not tried any disk on the computer after burning as yet].
But to get the ,D, branded tv/dvd player to play the disks just before the menus come on the screen hit the play button then the first will play and usually you can then select menu and it will work.But once ejected you get that they sometimes work.But on other players they work fine.

I will have to try a few on my computer and see what happens.

Hi again

I have tried 4 dvds recorded on the yamada 8000 that have shown the menu sticking on the ,d, brand asda tv/dvd unit and they all play fine on my computer.The player deck is only a cheap ome brand from the local computer shop [ ie cheap ] .And have tried 2 makes of disk as well [ hi space and the cheap white top disks from the shop and both are fine.So it may be a drive or software glitch if you happen to be unluck to own one of the makes that dont like the menus.
