american dvd player in the uk??

does anyone know if an american dvd player would work in the uk with a voltage converter??

Yes it would, assuming your TV accepts an NTSC input.

I don`t see the point of importing one, though. Once you`ve considered import duty, VAT, shipping and the cost of the voltage converter, it would probably be cheaper to buy a multi-region UK player.

Also, US players don`t support RGB, and most of them won`t play PAL discs either.

agree 100% with mike. Why would u do this? If you are in UK get a multiregion multisystem player that can play any DVD on any TV( with built in signal converter). Then you are all set. The cost works out to be the same. or may be 30 pounds more. But ITS NOT WORTH tTO BUY A PLAYER IN USA FOR UK.

Thanks for the advice. The reason i asked is because i am in the states at the moment and thought i might bring one back but it might be more trouble than it is worth by the sounds of it.
