i there!

i just bought a philips matchline 743 dvd player
and i need a multy-region hack for it....

i searched all forums but coudn`t find any

does anyone know if it is even possible to hack it with the remote?

I`ve been told that the regular hack work for the 743... I`m not sure since I`ve haven`t received my player yet. I`ll let you know as soon as I try it... Or maybe you can try it... Go there:

I`ve still got one problem thou,
my firmware states:
(c) Philips `01-`02 55194323.14-2 0606P22200300 6.2.10
so is my firmware 5.5 or 6.2?
if it`s 5.5 it is likely not to work according to the site you mentioned.

and please let me know when you used the hack...
if it worked or not...

Hi,

the "Rc6" method works for this model. (with the one4all remote for example)

I received my player yesterday and hacked it immediately... It worked, no problem, I`m so glad...

I did use the general Philips Hack
1. Set up the universal remote handset with code 0539.
2. With the remote, send the `RC6` code to the DVD player by pressing the following keys, in order:
3. `MAGIC` 085
4. When the dashes appear (`-----------`), enter the following code:
222 222 005 255
5. Then press `PLAY` and the machine should reset itself and the display will read "no disc".
6. The player should now be region free. :)

As for your firmware, I`m pretty sure it`s 6.2. I`ll check mine if you want.

12/23/02 I checked my firmware, it`s 6.2.10 as well

it didn`t work.....
well, i don`t know actually `cos i don`t have any reg1 disks yet.
but i didn`t get any ------ on my dvdplayers screen....

i used the SBC RU 660 method....

but thnx anyway....
