British legal system..... a farce!

dusty321 (Elite) posted this on Thursday, 20th April 2006, 20:34

I`m taking my ex to court to establish paternity as I think there maybe a chance her son is my boy. Its like 2 steps forward and 4 back. The people that run this useless legal system must think I`m a middle east oil Baron, money to burn and all!!!

Letter this morning from my solicitor. Dear Mr D yada yada yada, is your house really worth 80k and by the way if you wish to continue the legal proceedings with your ex we want £106 a MONTH contribution (on top of any other bills) towards your legal aid certificate and least we not forget that this COULD take up-to a year til completion

Needless to say I`m alittle p***ed off, after going through all this hassle to date to be told I`m going to be priced out of anymore legal action. It really does feel I`m being punished for doing the right thing!! >:(

The only other option I have available is LIP which scares me silly! The cold hard fact is if I want to find out i`m going to have to do it. The joys of life :/

Why don`t you do an NRP application with the Child Support Agency? I assume you`ll be happy to pay maintenance...

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...

And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...

CSA wouldn`t get involved as she hasn`t "pegged" me as a NRP (father) the guy she lives with now is down on the birth certificate as daddy knowing that there is a big ? over paternity, its a case of fingers in ears and shout la la la la he would sooner not know the truth and I need to know the truth!

Cheers anyway Si!

When it comes to the law and children the father is never going to win, save your money. You have got no chance your lawyers see you only as a cash cow nothing more, they are all a bunch of c***s.

IMO What you should do is get together with some mates and start rumours around town that you`ve come into a lot of money. Millions in fact!

It wont be long before your ex is banging down your door for a paternity test.

I take it she`s a money grabbing slapper who was up the duff when she f***ed off with someone else she was seeing behind your back!

Oh sorry, that`s my ex!!!!!!!!!!!!

British legal system a farce....

Agreed, especially when Divorce gets to Barrister and court hearing stage. The main money makers are the Barristers and Solicitors. And a game of luck on who your Judge is on the day and what mood they`re in :/

Ah, so you know my ex then! She got knocked up not because she wanted a baby but because she didnt want to live on her own and wanted someone to "keep" her and pay bills. Harsh, but a fact!

As for giving up, that ain`t happening unless the courts say NO to a DNA! At the end of the day there`s a baby involved and it makes my blood boil to think that the courts might deny me a test too prove either way! >:(
