I have been emailing him constantly for the last couple of days as I was applying for a job with his employer. He has helped me out no end with info. and gone above and beyond the call of a discussion group member...

...only for me to decide to take a different job after all! And have basically wasted his time.

Not really, I`m sure Haggis will agree, and what`s more was happy to help out where he could. I started my new job 2 days ago (after some nightmares) and so I know what a relief it is - so, basically, well done and I hope it`s everything you are hoping for mate :D:D:D
