unlocking phones

watermelon (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 22nd October 2003, 15:25

Does anyone know if it is possible to unlock a 3510i (on virgin network at present)?

Or a Siemens A60 or Nokia 3410?

Thanks :D

Dunno about the A60 but no problems with the 3410 or 3510i ;)

I wanna unlock my Nokia 3410, so I can use my twin sim holder I bought. Instead of carrying around 2 phones... one being a 5146 is it? The OLD bulky heavy phone.
I have o2 on 3410, and T-Mobile on the other.
I don`t fancy paying £30 odd to have the phone unlocked, which is the last price that greeted me in the local market. :(

Well I hope this helps I have unlocked a lot of phones this way

Whilst looking for tech support for my PC I came accross this site: http://www.aoaforums.com

and came accross the following thread:
http://www.aoaforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20771

(If the link doesn`t work _ this is a cover page story so just scroll down)

Basically it gives instructions/tools to unlock DCT4 phones:3510, 3510i,3590,3650 = Type 5, 6100,6310
6310i, 6390, 6510, 6590, 6610, 7210, 7290, 7650 = Type 5, 7690, 8310, 8390, 8910

Disclaimer: I havent tested this method out (mainly because i dont have a spare DCT4 phone)_but would be interested in any feed back on this topic. If any of you guys do try this_ i think the aoaforums would also probably appreciate the recognition and feedback

Try this link as well http://www.unlockme.co.uk/dct4free.html

Hope this helps

I think the 3410 is DCT3, there is a rumour that they can be done via IMEI but its still at the beta stage and quite unstable. As for £30 to unlock it, what a joke buy yourself some Magic Clips and do it that way pick them up for around 20 notes!

As with Dusty, i can also unlock DCT-4 Nokia`s free of charge.

DCT4 are easy to notice, anything with a `theatre style` dimming backlight, (3510i,6310,8310,any of the new colour phones etc...).

I can also unlock the new Symbian Series 60 handsets too, so any requests please email either myself or Dusty.
