Problem with the M3 DS Real Adapter...!!

Andy_R (Elite) posted this on Friday, 18th January 2008, 16:14

I stated on another thread that I purchased an M3 DS Adapter card for the Nintendo DS. I finally managed to purchase a Nintendo DS today at long last!?! The problem is is when I drag and drop .nds files onto the card and insert it into the DS it doesn`t do anything....

I`ve been frantically googling around and people suggest that I format the card using the FAT32 option which I have done. I have also downloaded and dropped the system folder from the loader v2.9 , made a seperate folder titled `NDS` and dropped the .nds files into here. When I put the card into the DS still nothing happens....!?!

I am using a 2GB Sandisk micro SD card. Would there be compatibility issues regarding this card??

Thanks in advance....

Did you get a disc with the M3? If not got to the M3 site and download the latest Kernel for it.

The game will not work without the correct OS/Firmware.

You have to be gentle with me as I`m not familiar with computing whatsoever!! :/ Is that the download where you take the System folder and drag & drop it to you mini SD card? This is what I`m doing and after putting .nds files into a folder I have made entitled `Nds` it still read`s `There is no DS card inserted`!!!

Yeah thats it. Try putting the games on the root of the card and not in a folder.

Not sure how M3 works but I have done a few R4`s

Check the card is in all the way and the correct way up.

When you turn on th DS you should get 3 boxes on the bottom screen Games, Media and Gameboy IIRC

Touch "games" box and you should see the folder called NDS or all the games if they are on the root of the card.

Yeh tried that and it still doesn`t read anything!?! I`ve sent off for a Kingston mini SD card. Worse comes to the worse I`ll keep my Sandisk card for my camera. That`s if it`s the problem regarding the DS! I`m hoping it`s the SD card I`m using at the moment. If the Kingston one doesn`t work then I`m truly snookered!!!

Bought one of these last week.
You need to format microSD card to Fat32. Then copy the SYSTEM folder to the root of the MicroSD card.
Put micro SD card into the DC cartridge type thing and stick into your Nintendo DS. Turn on and make sure that at least the operating system is working & choose language.
Remove Micro SD card and re-attach to PC. Create an NDS folder in root directory and add you DS roms to this folder. They should be named Fifa2007.nds (ensure the .nds forms part of the filename otherwise they don`t appear to work on R3 Real.

Here is a very helpful guide which I used and was up and running within 5 mins.

Good luck Andy & come back to me if you still have problems.

This is the problem I`m having. I format it to FAT32. I put the system folder onto the SD disc. I put the SD card into the adapter. When I put the adapter into the DS it doesn`t read at all! It just states `There is no DS card inserted`!??!?

Would it be possible I have a faulty M3 DS Real adapter? I purchased it from Amazon and seeing as they`re reputable I thought it would be ok....!?!

Where did you get the files you`re adding?
[quote]I purchased it from Amazon and seeing as they`re reputable I thought it would be ok....!?![/quoteDespite paying over the odds, you didn`t buy it from Amazon - I seriously doubt they would sell such things. You will have bought it from the Marketplace - almost an `advert` on Amazon with none of the protection you would normally get from them.

Not exactly, if it was faulty and you got no joy with the seller, you may be able to claim through Amazon. They guarantee marketplace orders, but you`re only allowed 5 claims total so don`t waste them. :D

I got the .nds files off Mininova. To download the latest Kernal I originally went to the official website www.m3adapter.co.uk. It stated that this did not exist anymore and directed me to www.m3adapter.com. When I clicked on the download option for the latest firmware I was greeted with the message `bandwidth exceed` or something along those lines!?!

I finally found it on another site - I posted the link on my original message in this thread - and still no joy. The frustrating thing is that I`m not even getting to go on the main menu with the M3 DS Real logo and all that!?!

This to me look`s like I`ve got a dodgy adapter. Now I`m gonna have to try and fight to get my money back...!? >:(
