Cheap guitar package

Ebuyer`s guitar stock seems rather erratic (see earlier thread) but they seem to have a fair quantity of this one...

Hard to argue about the price - it even includes a tuner!

I got an ebuyer amp and guitar package for xmas.

Of course, I had to check it before it was wrapped but there was no dvd in there.

I don`t suppose...??

I got one of those packages for my son a little while ago, and the DVD wasn`t mentioned then (and wasn`t in there either) - maybe you have one of the "older" ones without the DVD? The guitar was branded XCC (or something like that)

Was searching for the original thread (as I had commented on it there), but "a serious error occurred".

Anyway - it`s certainly as good as the Encores of this world, and a change of strings and dropping the action down helped it a lot. Pickup switching works OK - you get different sounds depending on which are selected, so all that seems in order. Played unplugged you get a decent amount of sustain from it, and I think in the hands of someone who can play (I play bass, not guitar), it would sound decent enough.
The amp sounds good enough on it`s "clean" setting - the distortion mode (like on most of these ultra cheap amps) is pretty naff. The bits you get with it (stap, tuner, gigbag) are pretty cruddy, but the guitar itself and the amp are certainly OK.

HTH

EDIT - just taken a closer look at the one on offer now - it`s not the same guitar as I got, and the tuner that came with ours was just a set of plastic pitchpipes - so this looks to be better value than the one we got! The amp looks different as well. So my comments may not be too much use to you!
