£150 for a 20GB MP3 player is very good price. Reviews on Amazon are generally favourable but the sonic software sounds like a stumbling block; it seems as if you have to use the software to transfer your MP3s as it places a `wrapper` arround the files to make them playable.

There`s no notable extras (e.g. radio, voice recording, text reader etc) but it can be used as a large, fast (USB2) removeable hard disc.

I bought the NWHD1 then had it upgraded to HD3 and find it to be an excellent Walkman and £150 is a damn good price. The battery life is a real bonus but the only downer is Sonicstage which you quickly get used to but never like.

Then again you can get the latest model (HD5 20Gb) player for £179.99 here., and a 30Gb version for £207 here.

I would pay the extra for the HD5, latest model, even LONGER (removable and user replaceable) battery life and SonicStage 3.1 which you can download for the HD3 if you wanted.

30gb version for around £210 delivered from StoneAudio.co.uk and others.

SS is not as good as Itunes but the sound quality of the Sony and Battery life kick the Ipod where it hurts! ;)

Typhoon make loads of cheap PC speakers etc. It looks like a rebadged version of a player I saw on Novatech or some such site - just checked and I can`t find it. IIRC, the battery life was only around the 8-10 hour level.

The Pocket VAIO is not new and is not that GOOD!

The battery is better than an Ipod but 50% of the HD5!

The size is quite large!

Build quality is the best of any MP3 player I have seen (save HD1) and it has an LCD remote which is incompatable with every other Sony MP3 player?

The unit discharges itself (like and ipod) if not used which the HD series do not do!

I have had them all, the HD`s are the best of the bunch!
