DVD writer is nothing special. They can be bought for £40 (even for dual layer). TV card is reasonable but depends on the features.

That is a good deal! I am definitely going for the hard drive. The TV card and DVD writer can be had for a lot cheaper elsewhere.

The TV card is EXCELENT-bought one last time Aldi had them in -the card is the Tevion Xpert 7134, if anyone want`s to do any research. The card itself is great--it`s got a TV and FM radio, an RF (aerial input, s-video and composite inputs) and it`s remote controlled. The software is very impressive, you can record straight ot MPEG (1 or 2) and you can also record straight to XVID/MPEG4 too.It has time slip and timer recording capability, so it basically turns your PC into a PVR. Aditionally, it comes with a very powerful editing/converting/DVD burning suite that is worth the money on it`s own .

Very configurable, and easy to use-I can`t recommend it any higher.

The DVD writer won`t fly out at that price-amazing how much they`ve dropped in the last year=so I can see some price slashing on that to clear the stocks-It`s a decent writer mind you, though they don`t mention the RW writing speed.

The HDD is good value, though I can get that price matched (actually bettered) from my computer fair, but not on the Western Digital - and I like their HDD`s, I`ve got a pair of 120GB ones in my PC now which together cost me less than this one, and I like the idea of not having everything on the same drive in case of problems. Also, beware of drives ovr 137GB, you may have problems with them unless your PC is capable of handling them.

With regard to the TV card, far better to pay about £10 more and get a card with Freeview built in loads more stations, both TV and radio - online at ccl computers.
