i have absolutely no idea abot sat nav so is this worth the cash or not?also do you have to pay a monthly fee for updates etc or is it just a one off payment and thats that?

Pretty much a one off payment for the hardware & map reading\routing software, paying for updates for speed camera detection (GPS alerts as you drive) is another matter.

Its a very good price for a Pocket PC & GPS bundle, although if you already have a Pocket PC or Palm you may just want to get a Bluetooth enabled GPS receiver (The software gets really pricy but there is at least on the Palm front low cost solutions to get around that).

It sounds a reasonable offer.

No mention of what type of GPS receiver is used or the software brand.
There is no subscription required for the GPS reception, but there may be a charge if you want to add traffic information, but not all software has this, and it`s not essential anyway.

Chargeable updates come out every year normally, and these include new maps.
Update fees are anything from about £40 to £100 depending on the software.
