Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs (1937)(Collector`s Pack)

DARKCROW (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 2nd January 2003, 11:52

Thought all you Disney DVD lovers out there might like to look at this gem I found in the MVC online sale.

http://www.mvc.co.uk/common/product.jhtml?pid=13549504

The retail on this is £24.99 but it`s on sale for £10.99 plus £1.00 P&P. There are lots of other great DVD in the sale, so you can mix and match and still only pay £1.00 for the P&P.

I ordered it just after Christmas and it really is a nice DVD to own.

The case is designed like a opening book and when you open it there inside is a 191 paged book called.."Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs...An Art in Its Making" The book tell the story of the design for the film with lots of great photos.
The DVD itself is a double disc with loads of extras.

I went to my local MVC in Exeter to see if they had it on the shelves in the store but they did not and the place was packed to the ceiling around the sale section, so this might be one of those special online purchases.

If you love Disney DVD;s or just animation and don`t already have this in your collection, then you have to get this before it goes.

yep a great spot, ordered mine today... good for when the nephews etc visit!

got e-mail yesterday to say none in stock! did i want to cancel or wait for it on back order???

here we go again... i replied immediately that i would post their e-mail content on a well known website, should they decide not to honour their offer...

i got an reply within the hour stating they will honour any orders and that this is a temporary supply issue...

are the big companies now running scared of us?

well I suspect they`ll just come back and say that they can`t source it since hmv don`t list it, choicesdirect claim its withdrawn, blackstar say its deleted and amazon offer to sell it for £45 from one of their sellers. Even the disney site only shows the single dvd edition. I reckon it was probably a mistake since mvc neither have the stock or the supplier. Mind you one wonders why they have failed to remove it from the catalogue.

Funnily the woolworths website lists the DVD at £18.49. Perhaps they`ll be able to source the DVD from the Woolies warehouse. I might be tempted if i see it in store but I find the lead character annoyingly twee (and they changed the ending so the wicked queen isn`t forced to put on a pair of hot iron shoes and dance in them until she was dead, though thats understandable I guess :) )

I ordered it earler this morning and have had no e-mail back.
I firstly did a check on dvdpricecheck and saw the Blackstar one and was amazed at their price (£6.39 delivered!) and was about to ask if anyone had experience of ordering from them. Then noticed it was deleted...... although they show it with a different cover.

We`ll see.
