RE: Is there a Region 1 hack for Pioneer DV-525?

Tried this site - but couldn`t get in (got an HTTP500 error). I have heard about other Pioneer players having a region selector in the Advanced Setup menu, but thought it was just a temporary thing (ie select R1 - play an R1 disc, go back to R2 to play an R2 disc). I`ll try it tonight anyway and get back to you all. If any of you CAN access the site above or know what it said, I`d appreciate an appraisal.

Is there a Region 1 hack for Pioneer DV-525?

Hi, I`ve just swapped my Grundig GDV-210A (doesn`t play Toy Story supplemental disc and is unlikely to be able to handle forthcoming titles like T2) for a Pioneer DV-525. Only problem is my Region 1 discs that I could play OK are now useless. Or are they? Please let me know if you know of a software hack. I`m not interested in a hardware hack and if it needs a "software download" - please let me know from where. Thanks.
