Wait six months and they will down another £100, only the must have pingots pay top price for this overpriced toy. Blu-ray will pale into insignicance in 2 years it’s the betamax of the video world.

Or wait 12 months and play for free it wont be long before an effective hack comes along, not that I condone piracy it’s despicable. :D

RE: Kingston 1GB SD card £7.29 @ ebuyer

I have never purchased anything from Ebuyer has anyone ever bought from them if so did you encounter any problems?

This offer says that the item is pre-order has anyone pre-ordered from Ebuyer before? I’m sceptical of purchasing from a company without some prior recommendations.

I know this is not the appropriate forum to ask such questions so apologies in advance but it has some relevance.

Archos AV700 40GB 7 inch media player £150

Staples have them on offer £150 thought my luck was in when he said it was the last one and could have another 10% of making it £135 unfortunately they had 2 left in Chester so £150 it was. They are still selling on the net for £379 they have them on offer in Argos for £250 so grab yourself a bargain they are a superb piece of kit

RE: Orange PAYG Sim Card £5 with £5 Credit

This is a fantastic bargain NOT. Welcome to planet earth how is life on planet Zorg? The principle of paying £5 and receiving £5 credit is not a new approach they call it “Pay as you go”.

Back to the care home for you!!

Bargain of the year award

I would like to propose we have an informal nomination award for the “Bargain Finder of 2006 award”. This could be best single find or multiple finds. Would anyone like to start us off?

I can think of a few people up “Pr ick of the year” but I won’t nominate him!!! ;) :*

RE: Xbox Ultimate Travel Pack 29.99

I have a Xbox with a built in hard drive but when I looked at the design and feasibility of using the travel pack I came to the conclusion that it would either cut off the circulation to the kids legs whilst sitting on their lap or how do you use the controller in such close proximity to the device.

Excuse my ignorance but can anyone explain a real use for this device.
:/

RE: In-Car 12V Wireless MP3 FM Modulator - £9.49 (3 days only)

As timechaser said earlier save your money they are sh it a complete waste of time.

Aldi and Maplins sell CD players with USB slots for about £50 some even have built in bluetooth.

RE: Nokia 6230i £79.99

:D Good spot Karen 70.

The good thing about the 6230i Nokia is that you can unlock them without any problems so you are not restricted to the Orange network. Follow the link below to download Nokia calculator. You only get 5 attempts before you are completely bowl-axed so beware if it doesn’t unlock after the fourth attempt leave well alone. I have personally used Nokia Calculator on many handsets without any problem.

RE: 250Gb hard drive DVD recorder

>:( Whoops I actually meant to say plebs (northern slang for fool) but spell check must have autocorrected!!! :D

In terms of job I’m in the legal profession and I have definitely called a Wayne Kerr before now, I have broad shoulders and thick skin so I can defiantly take it on the chin. (no poem intended).

The subject was defiantly about voting by which the people of a political unit determine autonomy or affiliation with another country.

With regards to taking goods back how on earth will there ever be a change in policy when people are protected by the consumer law here is an overview in case you didn’t know. The key to returning goods is how many shops have testing facilities or the time an inclination to doubt that you are lying when you return goods. Unhanded it maybe but hey who gives a fcuk about Argos Etc. Means to an end for me.

If you buy anything from a shop, catalogue or even the internet and there`s something wrong with it, then you`ve got a right to do something about it. But this doesn`t apply to changing your mind when you`ve decided you really shouldn`t have bought a mini disc player when your rent is due any day now.

What does the law say?
One of the most important laws governing your rights as a consumer is the Sale of Goods Act 1979. Like many laws it has evolved to keep up with changes in society so the Act now includes the `amendments` the Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994 and the Sale of Goods (Amendment) Act 1995.

This is a wide-ranging piece of legislation that applies to both new and second-hand goods.

It protects consumers by ensuring that:
Goods are of `satisfactory quality` - products must last a reasonable time and be free of defects
Goods are `as described` - a trader or advertisement must honestly describe the product. If, for example, you buy a CD that turns out to be counterfeit then you have a case against the trader that sold it.
Fit for purpose - products must do what the supplier says they do.

If you buy something that doesn`t meet any of the conditions stated above, it`s your right to demand your money back from the trader (the person/shop who bought it from), not the manufacturer, wholesaler or importer.

Traders also have a duty to supply products that are safe. If they knowingly supply unsafe goods they are committing an offence. If you buy an unsafe product, contact your local Trading Standards Office who will investigate the matter and prosecute the trader if necessary.

If the faulty goods cause injury to yourself or damage to your property of more than £275, you may be able to claim against the manufacturer or importer under `product liability` rules set out in the Consumer Protection Act 1987.

Just as importantly, you have no grounds for complaint under these terms if you:
Were told about the fault when buying the product
Inspected the product and should have noticed the fault
Damaged the product yourself
Bought the product by mistake
Have changed your mind

Services, such as those provided by tradesmen and professionals, are covered by the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982. Service providers have a `duty of care` to those they work for and work carried out must be `to a reasonable standard at a reasonable cost.`

RE: 250Gb hard drive DVD recorder

I appear to have caused a storm in a teacup! :o

The majority of you seem to have viewed my comments regarding stereotypical shoppers at LIDL with the tongue in cheek humour it was intended to be, except Choagy :( . The comment was a joke nothing more; with regards to their refund policy they will only refund faulty goods by cheque and will not issue a refund via the same means as payment.

In terms of returning goods I simply do not want it’s always best to try before you buy! I personally try the goods and then if I like it take it back and buy it elsewhere from a cheaper source. It may appear underhanded or unscrupulous but hey that’s my prerogative, I only test the products from companies that have good return and refund policies. I like millions of other customers do this only plebiscites would retain the goods in order not to offend multinational companies.

Companies like LIDL place so many obstacles in the way that most people do not bother with refunds, it’s their short sightedness that will ultimately loose them business. Aldi for instance have an excellent returns policy but I have never returned unwanted goods to them as they are cheap and good quality products.

RE: 250Gb hard drive DVD recorder

LIDL in German means “bargepole” well it doesn’t really but you must be mad to even consider buying any electrical goods from LIDL.

The returns policy at LIDL is if it costs over £10 they will not refund any faulty or unwanted goods back onto the card you paid with, they send you a cheque from head office.

But they get away with it because the majority of their customers are old, tight or lonely people that smell of urine or general mutants.

How Crapp is Talk Talk

>:(

I've recently had the displeasure of becoming a new customer of talk talk internet services; there customer services appear too based in a province of India where the dialect is particularly poor. My first encounter with a customer support agent named Minge-eater who had a very poor grasp of the queens English and wanted to know my MAC code so they can proceed with my connection, despite telling Minge-eater that I was already connected to the talk talk internet service and that despite send my MAC code to them 3 times by every means possible (excluding carrier pigeon) that I really was connected she insisted that she could not proceed my order without the MAC code. I now believe there is a special school somewhere in India that churn out half wits with zero charisma and freshly lobotomised to deal with enquires of normal people. I'm sure that Jeremy Beadle is making a new series and these people purposely aggravate us into ranting madmen. They try to use the phonetic alphabet badly using terms like Annie for the letter A instead of Alpha unfortunately this sound Harry when spoken with a strong Punjabi accent. Talk Talk please employ English speaking people we can understand and treat customers like they matter and not as another number, my only saving grace is that as current customer I did manage to get Talk Talk to agree that I could opt of the service free of charge it proved to be crap and guess what it is.

End of rant what's your experience.

PS: I've nothing against Indian people some of my best friends are Asians I just don't like talking to daft ones who can't speak English.
