RE: Fire at Video Island warehouse... any more info?

I only had a delay of 2 days on the one dvd I returned to screenselect, so 1 week compo is not bad at all.

RE: www.looking4dvds.com

Carole, did you pay by credit card? If you did, contact the card company and ask for a refund. My Co, Abbey, asked me to contact VISA (see previous post) and I succeded in getting a full refund :)

Alot of people have suffered losses from this man, even his distribution company say they are owed money by him!

RE: www.looking4dvds.com

I doubt he has it lying around his house so may not be worth the effort. If your debit card is a VISA card then contact VISA 30 days after order date on 0845 601 7238 for full refund back to your card.

If you were after a cheap price for a particular dvd check out:

for price comparisons.

RE: www.looking4dvds.com

Yep, he`s definately gone under. The website`s been dropped finally and on another forum someone posted this comment:

It might help everyone to know I have spoken to Mark Danby on several occasions regarding his dvd company.

I have a few views on what has happened and I am going to share them with you all so look away if you don`t think that you are going to like what I say.

1. Looking4dvds have quite obviously gone out of business...

RE: www.looking4dvds.com

This was posted today on another forum:

Dear all.

As the company who had recently agreed to carry out the distribution/despatch for looking4dvd`s, I can tell you the following.
We have received one batch of goods from Mark Danby`s supplier (approx 300 items)which we duly turned around within 24 hrs. However,I am finding it impossible to contact Danby since we carried out the work for him.
Incidently, he owes my company £300.
I would like to point out that we have no relationship or connection with the said company apart from the one shipment.
I would steer well clear of the man.

I would be interested to see if Mr Danby would reply to this person`s comments on this thread.

RE: Anybody here use Blah! DVD?

Yep, they`re pretty good & cheap. Saw the 2 for £12 offer last week but instead ordered:

Star Trek V SE £7.99
Resident Evil II £5.99

With a £2 off voucher it came to £11.98

Both arrived seperately after 3 and 5 days. :)

RE: www.looking4dvds.com

So why is my order (no: 8183) still listed as processing on your site.

And how come you have never responded to my emails or telephone messages?

And what is the issue with paypal (see above forum link) and them not being able to recover any funds from your paypal account?

Valentino

RE: Screenselect 2 For the Price of 1 Month

I wouldn`t think it has anything to do with your selections as if there are none of them in stock they will guess what you like and still send out something to you. I`ve been with screenselect for a good year now and find they generally send out most of the stuff near the top of my list.

Don`t forget though that all the web rental companies give priority to those that have had a particular title in their top of their list the longest so if you have just joined it is only fair to give it to somebody else who`s been waiting a while for a particular title. (screenselect even give you the option to reserve an item that is not even released yet!)

My only saving grace is that I paid using PayPal so I have a dispute filed with them at the moment. Hopefully the PayPal protection will get me a refund.

Sorry, I don`t think paypal are going to get you a refund. See this thread on another forum:
