Thanks RE: Eurotech DVR-4001

I managed to find an option in the DVD setup which had BG, DK I and L options and changed to the I option if I remember correctly, which fixed it. I have no idea what they are for and was a bit annoyed that they didn`t default to the appropriate setting for the UK but such is life. Thanks a lot for your help there.

As for the digital box, I have a scart from it to the TV and another one from the DVd to the TV (Only one scart space on the DVD). This means I can see the digital TV stations on the TV but the DVD can`t see that signal and therefore can`t record it. It will only pick up the stations it tunes to from the aerial. I guess if the TV had an audio/video output (it`s an old TV and only has inputs) then I could connect it that way, or if the DVD had two scarts I could put one in from the digibox and one out to the TV. Are scarts uni directional because there seems to be no way of treating the scart on the DVD as an input source, it only takes signals out of the DVD.

anyway, thanks again.
Cheers

RE: Eurotech DVR-4001

I just bought one of these and would be grateful if someone could help with this setup question.

I can play the dvd`s using either the scart connection or the three RCA plugs from the video and audio L and R output sockets into the TV no problem. I have also tuned the DVD to pick up the TV channels and can get the picture onto the TV (scart or via the 3 RCA plugs) but not the sound. Is there any obvious reason why this would happen. I have tried various options including switching from 5.1 channel to 2 channel and from sound output channel A to Channel B in the setup menu but I get nothing. It seems odd to me that the DVD`s will play sound but the TV channels won`t.

I couldn`t even get close to getting the digital TV box connected so will settle for the normal channels.

Any help gratefully appreciated

RE: Mustek DR1080 DVD Recorder hack needed please ....

Apologies for asking a question rather than answering yours but I couldn`t help notice the price on the 1080 and am thinking of buying one. Have you got a hack to make it multi region (excuse my ignorance but I am assuming that the hack you are requesting is to break the security tags not region settings). any other comments as to how well it works appreciated. eg what difference between the 1080 and the 1000 which is about £50 more expensive

Cheers
