RE: Ally McBeal box sets for 8-10 quid each

Perhaps they do bump it up but it was £35 when I bought it so it might just be a recent price fluctuation.

Alternatively, you can buy the complete set for £34.99 delivered at Virgin.

RE: Are Movietyme Always Rubbish?

Thanks for the advice: I shall give that a go.

Are Movietyme Always Rubbish?

I ordered a DVD boxset from movietyme on the 6th December. 11 days later and according their web site my order is `Queued For Process`.

I`ve tried contacting them but not a peep back. Nothing during the order process indicated that they didn`t have stock in (or I wouldn`t have ordered). At this point I imagine I have zero chance of seeing this arrive before Christmas.

I`m not happy. Is this a normal frame of mind for movietyme customers, or have I just been really unlucky? I had gathered from these forums that people seem to like them.

RE: Play.com £5 off codes....

Did anyone who is already a play customer actually manage to get a £5 code?

DVDCellar.com - Anyone used them?

Basically what the heading says. I`m interested in purchasing a DVD from them but haven`t heard a thing about them (can`t find anything in these forums and google groups just seems to turn up a small store in Manchester back in 2000).

I was also interested to note the following from the FAQ page on their site:

All orders are shipped free via First Class mail in specially secured mailpaks. While we have an office in the United Kingdom, our product is sourced from Canada and is shipped from our warehouse there (this is normally the case with many UK/Canada Region 1 retailers). All deliveries to the EC are shipped customs cleared, and as individual items. All EC deliveries are free of vat and duty charges. Normal delivery times from our warehouse to your address is approximately 3-8 Days. If you have not received your order within 21 days of the shipped date, please contact us at sredro[at]moc.rallecdvd and we will arrange for a replacement to be sent out immediately.

I have to admit I don`t quite understand what this means. Can I really order from them and not worry about being charged VAT? I somehow doubt it; but then again someone is always nicking half my pint! :)
