RE: WANTED Multi Region Genius,

Yes Laptops and Pc usually have a locking after a set number of Region changes, There are utilities that will set the region automatically so fooling the system, I have used it on my Twinhead for DVD and it has not run out of changes this way.
DVD Genie is a good one, there is a utility on the same web site in fact a number of them that will check if your drive is locked and what current region you are set to. DO a search for DVD Genie to find it, it runs whenever your DVD player is started i use Powerdvd and WinDVD both are great players. And it works with them ok.

Hope this extra info helps.

Panasonic L50 RCE hack

1. insert disc (wait until REGION map shows)
2. Hit stop
3. hit play (wait for REGION map again)
4. hit stop (play symbol will appear this time bottom right hand corner)
5. Hit play immediately you see this
6. "PRESS PLAY FOR CHAPTER REVIEW" appears (ignore it)
IT will start at beginning of movie soon

Enjoy your limited number of movies but it does work

GOOD LUCK!

RE: Remote hacks for Panasonics, Toshiba SD100E or Sharp DV620H?

here is an interesting thing, I have a panasonic L50, it is region 3 but it plays all region 1 discs including RCE disks that my chipped sony will not.
I did a factory reset, now it only plays region 3 and region free discs, so it must have been a software upgrade, i have opened the player it is not a chipped player, so there must be a software hack available as either a rom disc update or code entry. So we need to have another think, i cannot see as a comsumer products manufacturer myself not making it easy to do region coding in software in the player as it would be very expensive to have chips for each region made. Hope this inspires someone into looking deeper.
