RE: Roll call time !!!!!!!!, Have you changed your user name ?

I`m still lurking around. Don`t really post much these days.

RE: DAB radio in car

The Highway also runs off a couple of AA batteries if the lighter socket is in use. There`s also a headphone out so it doubles up as a portable DAB radio as well.

RE: DAB radio in car

I`ve been using a Pure Highway for a few months now and it`s been great. It rarely shows anything but full strength on the signal meter and in my opinion sounds great.

I was a bit dubious when I got it as I`ve tried a couple of MP3 player FM transmitter things and they`ve sounded pretty awful but the Highway comes through crystal clear with no hiss to spoil what you`re listening to.

Hope this helps

Pete.

RE: Planet Rock online player

It`s not working for me either :/

RE: Morrisons now doing latest release DVDs for £9

The 2 disc version of 300 is £9.00 in Morrisons today.

RE: Did you get the new JD Freebie?

Mine arrived this morning. Just need the shirt now.

RE: Setting up DVDR with Sky box

Have you set your DVD recorder to record from the AV input that the SKY box is plugged into. On my DVD recorder I have to set it to record from AV2 which correspondes to the scart socket the SKY feeds into.

If you`re trying to recordfrom say channel 1, that would normally be the built in tuner recording from BBC1 but as you`ve not got an ariel cable attached it will just be a blank blue screen.

For anyone who can`t wait to see how well Moster Squad has stood the test of time, Channel 5 are showing it on Saturday afternoon at 4.25.

RE: Rush - Snakes and Arrows

I`m just playing it for the first time. So far excellent.

Much better then Vapour Trails. :D

Original XBOX official DVD Remote.

The Microsoft DVD remote control for the original XBOX £8.00 instore at HMV. I`ve just bought one in the Blackpool store. There were 3 or 4 left.

Cheers Pete.

RE: And the `complete universe` won`t be so complete...

With my 10% for being an on line DVD renter I just paid £57.58 :D

Thanks for the head up.

RE: DVD reviewer Roll call

Still present and lurking.

RE: Photo Mugs and Mousemats £1.50 each at ASDA

Thanks for the heads up. Got a mug and mousemat with new baby picture on for the wife as part of Christmas present.

Pirates of the Caribbean 2 £9.70 at Asda.

Just got back from Asda and they`re selling the 2 Disc special edition of Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Mans Chest for £9.70.

I`ve had a quick look on the net and most on line retailers seem to be charging allot more.

There`s also an Asda exclusive which comes with a paper back book, but that seems expensive at £17.87.

Anyway, all off to Asda (unless you can find cheaper).

Cheers Pete.

RE: Favourite Home Made Toasted Sandwich

Tuna, Cheese and Onion. Lovely.

RE: Samsung HD860

Thanks for that ;)

Samsung HD860

I was thinking of buying a Samsung HD860 after reading several good reviews and have heard there`s a hand set hack.

I`ve checked on the region hack page but can`t see it. Has anyone any idea what it may be?

Many thanks.

Pete.

RE: Phillips car radio

Have you disconected the battery recently? Sounds like some kind of security lock out has kicked in. Do you have a pin code for your radio?

Cheers Pete.

RE: Free Superman Keyring Worth £4.99 at Play.com - Loophole, Be Quick!

I think with the keyrings being on pre order we`ll be out of luck.....but I`ve ordered one anyway.

Cheers OP.

RE: Air Conditioners

Funny enough I`ve been out this afternoon and bought one to cool down my 9 week old baby who was suffering from the heat in bed last night.

I got it from Currys, the make is Carlton (their own brand I think) and it cost £230.00.

It`s supposed to be portable but remember that it will blow cold air out of the front, but it pumps out loads of hot air from the back so you need to vent it out of a window, a bit like a clothes tumble dryer.

I`m trying it out tonight so I`ll report more tomorrow.

Cheers Pete.

RE: Rush fans - check this out!

Get your order in now with HMV and save 20%, see the Bargain Buckets forum.

Works out at £14.39 ;)

RE: Help with DVD Player and Amp

The above poster seems to to have hit the nail on the head with their reply. Forget using your DVD players internal processor for DD and DTS and use a digital link to your amp, let it do the work, and leave all those analogue forms of decoding switched off.

My set up sounds similar to yours. I have a Pioneer DVD player which will play SACD and DVDA discs, so I have a 5 lead analogue connection to my amp (Yamaha DSP A5) to listen to music recorded in these formats and I use a coaxial digital connection for movies.

To be honest I`ve always found the sound from SACD and DVDA discs a bit disappointing and I`ve just about given up on the formats. To me music played in 2 channel sounds fuller and more defined. Once the novelty of listening to drums and guitars flying at you from all directions wears off it starts to get a bit annoying.

So in short, get some kind of digital connection to your amp and stick to either plain old DD 5.1 or DTS for movies and use your analogue connections for SACD/DVDA playback only.

Cheers Pete.

RE: 1 DISC NARNIA £9.75 AT ASDA

Double disc £12.99 in Morrisons.

RE: Intempo DAB radio under £30

I recieved a dispatch confirmation email tonight. Should be with me sometime tomorrow. I`ll let you know when it arrives.

RE: Intempo DAB radio under £30

Excellent spot. I`ve been after another DAD readio for a while now and these have had some pretty good reviews inthe past.

Cheers Pete.

RE: My New Bike. What do ya think?

Is that a Quill end can? I used to have one of those on my old GSX400. It sounded a treat :D

RE: Who is the closest member to you?

The Vegas of the north west, Blackpool.
